Are you our new colleague as Analyst in Interconnect, Settlement & Fraud Management?

Interconnect, Settlement & Fraud Management – what the?!🤔 Telco companies around the world make agreements to connect their networks with each other so that your mobile phone works abroad and when you, as a customer, can make a call or send a text, you may unknowingly become connected to different networks at different telco companies.
Are you good at recognizing patterns in big data sets? Are you comfortable working under and in accordance with regulations? Do you thrive in a team where support and knowledge are a shared asset? Then you might be our new Interconnect & Fraud Analyst at Norlys!
This is where you come in | Your new everyday life at Norlys
It’s Monday, your colleague Thomas, the department's other Interconnect Analyst, reaches out to you because he has observed that there is an unusual traffic pattern in our network. Together, you pull out traffic data and discover a pattern that resembles spoofing. You alert your fraud colleagues. You agree to check with Norlys' international Carrier to see if there is anything unusual. You and Thomas validate data from the CDR system and data system (Analyze) and block the routes. You give each other a high five for having reduced bad customer experiences.
On your marks | ready | set | go!
On Tuesday you have a meeting with Jeppe from Controlling Telco, who is in charge of the Roaming area in Finance. You look into the processes you are responsible for and you support your colleagues in Fraud Management. You are in contact with engineers, lawyers in Legal and good people outside the organization.
Your closest colleagues
It is Wednesday and it means it's office day in the department. Lene, Christina, Thomas, Tina, Allan, Håkon and you meet in. You are new in this role, but the team involves each other and you in every way. Martine is still part the team until she will leave in august. It may be that you do not know everything about the entire Interconnect, Settlement and Fraud area and data set up, but your colleagues have deep experience. At 11.30 you go to the canteen where a delicious lunch is served. You talk about what's going to happen over the weekend. The day is spent looking at analyses and optimizations.
Data ninja
It's Thursday morning and you have a cup of coffee (or tea) and a 1:1 with your manager, Håkon. He is negotiating a transit agreement with an interconnect partner and the team is already involved in the process. Together with Lene, the department's Settlement Expert, you look at the development of similar transit cases. Then you have a meeting with Christina, the department's Interconnect expert. Last quarter there was a difference in SMS traffic towards an Interconnect partner. It has been agreed to launch an investigation. You examine and compare data and track down whether any changes have occurred after an update that could have an impact.
Inbox rider and nerd time | Operations and development
On Friday you nerd about your data setup. You want to make sure that the controls you have been working on for a while are working as they should and are similar to the traffic that our clearing house also has. You will complete your analyses, provide status to colleagues in the team and in the house. Whether you are working from home or in the office, you can look back on a week where you have learned a lot and worked on your operational tasks.
Who you are | what’s in your toolbox
As you may have gleaned from the diary above, you must be able to navigate in a stakeholder landscape and conduct different analysis based on traffic data. This is what drives you! You will work independently and with others inside and outside of your team, so adapting to different environments should be an easy task for you. More important than your educational background is your curiosity, structured way of working and ability to translate data into business insights. You could have a background within analytical discipline, but your profile is what matters the most to us.
What we can offer
In this role, you will be based at our bright and spacious Copenhagen office, near public transport. There will also be a possibility to work from home in this role.
When on-site, the team consistently meets for lunch in the canteen, where work gets paused for a moment to make space for a social exchange. While we value hard work, we know that it is also important to be able to talk about your plans for the weekend, your hobbies or your upcoming vacation.
