During the carve-out process from Telia Company we will build a state of the art Nokia Core infrastructure, so we are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with expertise in one of or more domains IMS, SDM, and EPC, ideally with a background in Nokia technologies.

Your new department 

The 2nd level Mobile Network Operations team is part of the newly established Operations organization within Networks & Infrastructure. The team is operating the mobile network and services together with partners. One of the main goals of the team is building up a state of the art Mobile Network Operations department to operate and maintain a position as one of the best Mobile Networks globally.  
 

Your new role | Network performance  

As an Core Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting the core network elements, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the overall mobile network experience for millions of users. 
 
•  Provide Level 2 (L2) support for IMS, SDM, and EPC network components. 
•  Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal   performance. 
•  Work with Nokia core network solutions, including MME, HSS, PCRF, MGCF, and SBC. 
•  Optimize network elements to improve latency, capacity, and end-user experience. 
•  Collaborate with L3 support, vendors, and teams to implement network upgrades and patches. 
•  Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and drive proactive network improvements. 
•  Support the integration of 5G Core and transition from legacy architectures. 
•  Ensure compliance with network security policies and regulatory standards. 
•  Participate in on-call rotations and emergency incident handling. 
 

Who are you  

 
•  Experience in core network engineering with a focus on one or more of the domains IMS, SDM, and EPC. 
•  knowledge of Nokia core network solutions (MME, HSS, PCRF, etc.). 
•  Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and optimizing VoLTE, VoWiFi, and EPC architectures. 
•  Proficiency in Diameter, SIP, GTP, DNS, and other core network protocols. 
•  Solid understanding of end-to-end call flows, signaling, and policy control. 
•  Experience with network performance monitoring, probe and analytics tools. 
•  Familiarity with virtualized core networks (vIMS, vEPC, Cloud-native solutions). 
•  Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Ansible) are a plus. 
 

You are a team-oriented person who thrives on collaboration across disciplines and locations. As our team is spread across the country, you will experience a strong online community and close cross-functional cooperation. Ideally, you have an engineering background and experience with some of the tasks or areas mentioned above. 

This role requires that you can obtain and maintain security clearance throughout your employment.
