Cloud Architect for Norlys

Location: Copenhagen, Silkeborg or Aarhus

Do you want to help shape the future of cloud solutions at Norlys? We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Architect to join our Cloud Platforms team. As part of the team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and managing Norly’s enterprise cloud platforms on Azure.

About the team

The Cloud Platforms team is responsible for building and operating the cloud infrastructure that enables application teams to deploy workloads seamlessly using our enterprise-scale landing zones. You will work closely with development teams across Norlys to provide cloud architecture guidance, implement best practices, ensure security hardening, and strengthen compliance across our cloud environments. In this role, you will also support the onboarding of new teams to the enterprise cloud platform, drive cloud adoption and innovation, and contribute actively to enhancing and maturing the core capabilities of our cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures

  • Support the continuous improvement of the enterprise-scale cloud platform, ensuring alignment with best practices

  • Support the transition of IT services to a next-generation cloud future with agile and automated delivery and operating models.

  • Evaluate cloud technologies and services to recommend best practices and solutions to optimize security, performance, cost, reliability, and scalability

  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing technical guidance and thought leadership to accelerate cloud adoption across the organization.

  • Support application migration and modernization initiatives, ensuring seamless transitions to the cloud.

About you

We imagine that you have experience with cloud development and/or architecture, preferably from an enterprise organisation or a consultant role, advising large organisations on cloud solutions. We appreciate a sound theoretical foundation in infrastructure, computer science, data or IT technician or similar, but it is your personality, accomplishments, and skills that we value the most.

Key Qualifications

  • You have in-depth knowledge of Azure services, including compute, networking, IAM, storage, and security.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience at the architectural level, including designing cloud platforms and enterprise scale landing zones, defining standards, and ensuring alignment with enterprise security and governance requirements.

  • High proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or similar, including hands-on experience working with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions/Workflows.

  • Strong understanding of Azure security features and knowledge of compliance frameworks such as CIS, NIS or ISO 27001.

  • Experience in implementing guardrails and policies in Azure for consistent and secure infrastructure management and familiarity with the Well-Architected Framework and best practices for cloud governance and security.

  • Experience in cloud migration projects, assessing technical feasibility, and delivering scalable solutions.

As a person, you have an agile mindset and a can-do attitude. You like taking charge while making sure your colleagues and team are in the loop. You are engaging and collaborative, can lead through others and focus on functional expertise both within cloud design and execution. Your assignments will gain high attention, and because you will work with stakeholders across the business and IT organization, it is important to have great communication and stakeholder management skills as well as business acumen.

Why Join Norlys?

At Norlys, we are committed to innovation, sustainability, and creating meaningful impact. By joining our Cloud Platforms team, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Drive the future of cloud technology within a forward-thinking organization.

  • Contribute to impactful projects that shape the way Norlys leverages cloud technology.
