AWS Cloud Architect - Lead the design of Norlys' enterprise cloud platform

Location: Aarhus or Silkeborg

Do you want to take a leading role in building a modern AWS platform from the ground up? Could you see yourself shaping the architecture, governance and operating model that will enable teams across Norlys to succeed in the cloud? Then this might be your next challenge.

Be part of the platform journey at Norlys

You will join the Cloud Platforms team and work at the center of Norlys’ AWS journey, where the ambition is to build a robust enterprise platform that enables consistent workload deployment and operations across the organization. In this role, you will work closely with application teams, security specialists, network teams, solution architects, and external partners to assess workloads, map dependencies, and onboard applications successfully to AWS.

You will act as a trusted AWS advisor across the organization, balancing architectural direction with hands-on delivery and helping Norlys build the capabilities and operating model needed for managing our cloud platform.

Shape the foundation for cloud at scale

We are looking for a senior AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design and evolution of Norlys’ enterprise AWS platform and the core capabilities needed for long-term adoption across the organization. In this role, you will help establish a secure, scalable, automated, and cost-efficient cloud foundation that enables application teams to deploy and operate workloads consistently.

You will work across platform architecture, governance, networking, security, observability and automation, while also helping define the standards and operating model that make AWS usable and sustainable at enterprise scale.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Design and evolve Norlys’ enterprise AWS platform, including landing zones, secure connectivity and standardized workload environments.
  • Define the AWS operating model and governance setup, including multi-account structure, Control Tower, policies and security guardrails aligned with CIS, NIS2, and ISO 27001.
  • Build shared platform services for identity, security, logging, monitoring and observability to support enterprise adoption.
  • Drive automation and reusable platform engineering through Infrastructure as Code, reference architectures and standardized patterns.
  • Ensure the platform is secure, scalable, reliable and cost-efficient, including reporting, budgeting and FinOps optimization.
  • Support cloud migration and modernization through workload assessments, dependency mapping, and target-state architecture.
  • Maintain platform documentation and drive alignment across standards, architectural decisions, onboarding and cross-functional stakeholders.

Apply your technical depth where it matters most

We are looking for a senior AWS Cloud Architect with the technical depth to design enterprise-grade cloud foundations and the pragmatism to turn architectural decisions into working platform capabilities. Just as importantly, you take ownership, drive progress and know how to work across business and IT functions without losing technical precision. You are collaborative and pragmatic in your approach, comfortable leading architectural discussions, and equally comfortable contributing directly to implementation when needed.

We imagine that you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience designing and building enterprise AWS platforms and landing zones at scale.
  • Bring strong hands-on expertise across AWS networking, identity, security, governance, observability and core infrastructure services.
  • Have proven experience with cloud migration, workload modernization and onboarding application and data teams to AWS.
  • Are strong within Infrastructure as Code and automation, using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD or similar technologies.
  • Have excellent architectural judgment, stakeholder management and communication skills, and can translate business and technical requirements into practical cloud solutions.
